Come join Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County for a day of building on our construction sites! Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County is a volunteer driven organization serving families and communities in the Brazoria County area.  By working alongside our dedicated construction team, regular volunteers, and partner families you will help us build Habitat houses while having a great time learning construction skills. You can also get a first-hand look at our sustainable building practices, which make us one of the greenest Habitat affiliates nationwide. With your help on the construction site, from the foundation to the finishing touches, we can make affordable housing in the Brazoria area a reality. We look forward to building with you!No previous construction skills are expected! Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County will provide skilled construction staff to train volunteers and supervise construction. Construction

Habitat homes are built with 80% volunteer labor. We depend on individuals like you who are willing to come out and swing a hammer on the construction site to build homes and a lasting future for families in need. No construction experience is necessary. We provide you with all of the tools and training necessary on site. The best way to sign up is to contact us to get on our volunteer schedule.

ReStore

The ReStore sells primarily furniture and household goods at a fraction of retail prices. Proceeds from the store help fund the construction of Habitat homes. Habitat ReStore needs volunteers to help manage the store, assist customers and keep merchandise in order and stocked. If you like working with people and in fun environments, this will be a great experience for you.

Support Volunteers

Building dreams takes lots of behind-the-scenes work from dedicated volunteers, and there are a variety of ways to do this beyond the construction site. Consider joining one of our committees that help Habitat serve the community, volunteer with our office team or at our ReStore! There are many opportunities for you to support our work!

Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County has a few specialty volunteer roles that make a major difference in our ability to carry out our mission. If you have any interest in the following areas, please let us know!

Churchs Relations: To cultivate Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County’s relationship with local churches, seek Covenant Churches, and maintain ties to currently involved churches.

Fund Raising: To raise sufficient money as determined by the Board of Directors to fund the needs of the organization in order that simple, decent housing can be built with Partner Families.

Publicity: To help to continually improve the community’s awareness of our work, recognize our participants, and encourage new donations of time and materials so more people have simple, affordable housing.

Grant Management: A person that helps writes various grants for housing.

Committees

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers who are willing to help us with some of the vital behind-the-scenes work which keeps our organization’s goal of helping families alive.
